Do you offer a Gluten Free option?

I'm afraid we don't have any gluten-free dumplings on our menu yet. But maybe one day in the future this may change.

Is the veggie box vegan?

The food that makes up the veggie box is all vegan and contains no animal products, however, the insulation we use in our packaging is made from wool. 

The wool is contained in a recycled plastic liner and comes into no contact with the food or steamer, but it’s obviously important for vegans to know about that!

Please also be aware that our dim sum is made in kitchens that process meat, fish, crustaceans, and dairy and so we do have to include this statement in our allergen statement and information.

Denim liner fee

We have been looking for a good sustainable, plastic-free vegan option for our liners for a while, but unfortunately, we have not found an option that is as good as wool. But our denim liners are a good alternative. 

The denim liners are significantly more expensive than the wool liners, so we have kept the fee for these nominal, as we definitely do not want to put anyone off choosing them if they would prefer the denim liners.

What's the 'use by' date of my food?

The frozen bits we would recommend eating them within 2 months, providing it's been kept in the freezer. The slaw kit you should try and eat them within three days. The rice and dips will last for 6 months+.

Carrot slaw recipe

For the carrot slaw, just peel the carrot, then grate it and drench in the slaw tang. You can combine it with the garnish (sesame seeds) and the edamame beans if you like!

Can I change the address/delivery date?

Yes of course you can! Provided you act quickly!

Please just contact us through our contact form, which is located below the 'Help Center' in our 'Important Bits' section, bottom right of site. Sending in your order number or name, and the details that you need to be changed. We'll confirm back once we've made the change.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery costs a very reasonable £4.95 for the standard service. We also offer a priority service for a little bit more. If your order is particularly massive then it will be a little more still. All costs are calculated and options are given at checkout.

What happens if I'm not at home when my dim sum turns up?

The dry ice and wool insulation will keep it at the right temperature for 48 hours from dispatch, so it will be okay sitting on your doorstep even in the hot sun until you get back at the end of the day. However, we always advise you to get it unpacked and in the freezer as soon as you receive it.

What are the delivery timelines?

We deliver on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and you'll need to choose the date you want on the checkout page. Cut-off times are midnight for dispatch the next day, and all of our orders are sent on a next-day delivery. Some postcodes are only accessible within 48 hours, but you'll know if that means you when it comes to choosing your delivery date.

Why is my order delayed?

As we do occasionally experience delays with our courier service, we recommend as clearly as we can on the delivery date page to order well in advance of the day you intend to eat the box, purely to avoid food waste should this happen. We also put a lot of effort into ensuring that our packaging choices have as little impact on the environment as possible while still keeping the food safe and protected during transit for 48 hours, to ensure that if delayed, it doesn’t go to waste.

Even on the chosen day, deliveries can be made up until 8pm in the evening, so we try to arm customers with the information to avoid missing a special occasion but understand that it's sometimes missed in the excitement.

We put a lot of effort into checking and double-checking each order that is dispatched, so please make sure you do the same before reporting any issues! Please fully check your box and check any packaging that has been thrown away. Please do also check the fridge/ cupboard/freezer in case it's been put away and forgotten about! Please note that we will ask you for photos of everything you've received before we're able to investigate and refund or replace any missing items.

Dim Sum
  • Please fully unpack your delivery box. The dim sum will be in the bottom compartment of the box, underneath the cardboard layer that is labelled with ‘DIM SUM IN HERE’. Don't worry, you’re not the first person in history to have missed this!
  • Please take care when opening the pouch and handle any dry ice with a tea towel or gloves.
